The Ministry of Tourism started focusing on the promotion of Domestic Tourism. The purpose of starting the webinar series was to maintain a dialogue and introduce the citizens to the history, culture, cuisine, heritage, architecture, etc. the objective of promoting various tourist destinations of India and providing information/ encouragement to the people on the places they can travel to once travel opens up launched a series of webinars under the Dekho Apna Desh.
The Webinars include glimpses of the culture, heritage, handicrafts, and cuisine of the destinations, in addition to the tourist spots. Concepts of Responsible Tourism, Sustainable Tourism, Accessible Tourism

Bikaner _ A city of thousand of havelis
Bikaner to you could mean Bhujiya (the famous spicy savoury) or the region that gave Rajasthan its tradition of female folk legacy referred to as ‘Maand’ singers. Located in the Thar desert of Rajasthan, the 530 years (1486 A.D) old walled city of Bikaner is a dense urban settlement with narrow streets, opulently decorated courtyard houses (known as havelis, which characterize the historic center of the city), winding lanes, traditional bazaars and colourful handicrafts. A special feature of Bikaner is its vibrant old city, comprising numerous Havelis, Prols (self-contained neighborhoods), Chowks (squares) and Chabutras (for feeding birds)

Agri Tourism India
The concept of Agri tourism is very simple, whereby the urban tourists go to the farmer’s home; stay like a farmer, engage in farming activities, experience the bullock cart, tractor ride, fly kites, eat authentic food, wear traditional clothes, understand the local culture, enjoy the folk songs and dance, buy fresh farm produce and in turn the farmer maintains home and farm hygiene, greets new tourists, sells his farm produce at a better price, earns a livelihood all year round, Agri Tourism has helped to conserve, enhance the village environment
After returning from South Africa in 1915 Gandhiji was advised by Shri Gopal Krishna Gokhale to travel across India and decide on his future place to initiate his freedom movement. Gandhiji finally chose Ahmedabad and continued till 12th March 1930 when he left for his famous Dandi March to break the Salt Act on 6th April morning and was finally arrested on 5th May and taken to Pune.
